Real Madrid Star Dumps European Nation For African Nationality Switch

African football has gained another rising star to its ranks as more attention will be gained.

Real Madrid attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz has switched nationality from Spain to Morocco.

The 24-year-old was named in Morocco's squad after deciding to dawn the colours of the North African team rather than La Roja.

In a statement realesed by the Moroccan Football Federation, the former AC Milan player was named in Walid Regragui's 24-man team for the upcoming games against Angola and Mauritania.

After representing and scoring for Spain in a single game against Lithuania in 2021, FIFA rules states thay players can change nationalities factoring that they have not played for than nation for at least three years and have made fewer than three appearances for a country before the age of 21.

Diaz has been in good form with his displays for Madrid thus far, yielding eight goals in 32 games in all competitions.
